Water is the very essence of life

Water is the very essence of life.

Our body is made up of roughly 60% water.

We use it to wash our hands, to flush the toilet. We cook with it.

Without water, all life would cease to exist.

I was waiting to pick up my wife from work when it started to rain.

It started out as just a soft light rain, but enough to make people drive differently. It was enough to make me stop and listen to the drops hit the roof of my car. It was enough to make me become aware of my surroundings.

Rain is water.

The rain compelled me to focus on the drops rolling down the window and not on the hustle and bustle that was going on around me.

I guess I really needed that few minutes to ground myself today.

I stopped and looked around, took a few deep breaths, and I became aware of the world around me. Something I seem to take for granted far too often.

I closed my eyes and in that moment, all the crazy from the day was gone. All the rush to get somewhere was gone and my heart felt lifted. I needed that today.

Life can cause havoc and you have to stay centered to get through it. I recommend sitting in the car, closing your eyes and just listen to what's around you. Take deep breaths and just be!

After you expel your breath, take out your phone and snap a picture.

That's what I would do.
