The launch is tomorrow. But what is it? This company aspires to power the world. Two power cells, which you can hold in the palm of your hands, will power a US house. Founder, K.R. Sridhar, hopes to get the price point for these power cells down to $3000 and hopes to power every home on the planet within the next 5 to 10 years.
Notable venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins and others have helped Bloom Energy raise over $400 million in funding to research and produce these power cells. And companies such as EBay, Wallmart, Staples and even Google are testing the power source now. The public unveiling of Bloom Energy is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in San Jose, California.
