Week Three with Liberty Stix

Just so you know, I'm only going to do four weeks of updates. From my reading, once you get past four weeks without smoking, you're probably on the road to being a successful ex-smoker. I've also read that week three is the toughest. Since this is week three for me, I guess I'll let you know in the next post. I find it incredibly amusing to be posting about quitting smoking on The Smoking Wall. But then, The Smoking Wall isn't about smoking itself so much as the conversations that happen because smokers stop everything they are doing to gather informally at a specific outdoor location and engage in amazing conversations.

My dad was saying at our Thanksgiving celebration that smokers cost companies lots of money in lost productivity due to smoke breaks. Having been an employee and employer as both a smoker and non-smoker, I have to say my experience does not corroborate that assertion. In my current job, I can't begin to count the number of work-related problems I've solved with my co-workers at The Smoking Wall. The challenge for me now, in fact, is how am I going to incorporate that same productivity into my day now that I don't smoke? Bottom line, I encourage each and every one of you, whether you smoke or not, to take trips to The Smoking Wall with your co-workers. Witness for yourself the level of productivity happening there.

Now for the update on my stop smoking journey with Liberty Stix.

I have found after 2 weeks that I "smoke" a 1/2 a pack a day in Liberty Stix terms. That's 1/2 a cartridge a day. What is so interesting is that I smoked actual cigarettes at exactly the same pace. Based on my own anecdotal evidence, it is the desire to perform the tactile actions of smoking which is the hardest to overcome when quitting smoking. And that is exactly what Liberty Stix provides the new non-smoker. No nicotine, no tar, no second-hand smoke, no other harmful bi-products of cigarettes. All of the pleasure, non of the harm. It is still working for me and I can't wait to see Liberty Stix everywhere. Let's see the cartridges and starter packs in every gas station in America. These should be sold everywhere cigarettes are sold. Let's put those cigarette machine vendors back in business with Liberty Stix cartridges!
