Portraits vs memories
I learned something very interesting today. In all the years I have been taking portraits I could always pic out what I thought was good. Or pick the picture out that a mother was going to make an 8x10 of. I often wondered why some people choose to buy a picture that too me just looked like something that they could have taken at home. A girlfriend of mine said something to me that I needed to hear...she said Penny you are not just taking a portrait you are making a memory for these clients. I have thought about that alot the last few hours. I think that is why I have not been as much of a sales person that I need to be. So little Tommy is sucking his thumb...it's what he does. What he looks like everyday. Of course mom and dad want is a big cheesy smile but really at 2 or three if you can keep them still for 5 seconds you have mastered child photography. So with that being said I will be looking at pictures differently now. Maybe those pics that I have been known to delete I will keep just because it is a memory.this drawing kinda shows the day I had...apt of kids wanting to hang on to dad or mom. I am stranger.
One more day of Easter crazy people. One client at a time Pea e and love, P
